The NATO Strap, 1973
First issued by the British Ministry of Defence, the NATO strap was engineered as a secure, durable military strap.
Yet the concept itself is far older, tracing back to early wristwatches of the First World War.
Worn beneath the watch head, the single-piece construction minimizes failure points and keeps the watch secured even under hard use, a practical solution that long predates the name “NATO.”
